SERIES - IN DEVELOPMENT
Brooklyn. 1890.
Charles Forman's prospects are as dim as the gaslights of his fledgling Brooklyn theater. A dwindling audience and a mass exodus of performers has left him near penniless, setting him off in a drunken haze through the gritty Brooklyn streets where he stumbles upon something that will forever alter his fortunes and his life - the underground world of male and female impersonators. Thus begins an epic journey of self-discovery and survival as he transforms his theater into a powerhouse of drag and vaudeville—just as the city's vice squad begins to crack down on cross-dressers and sexual deviants. This little theater becomes a cultural lighthouse and battleground as Charles and his crew must navigate the shifting tides of celebrity, love, identity, and oppression—lit by the footlights of vaudeville.
